New kit - Beach Babies

I know, it's been awhile, I have been on Facebook (see link on left), so if you are on FB send me a friend request. I have found that Farm Town game and am truly addicted to it, LOL. Just a simple game where you plant fields, watch them grow, harvest them, plant again, all to earn coins to purchase things for your farm...plants, trees, animals, houses, and more. One great feature is that you can send friends FREE gifts every day! LOL

I have also been busy with doing a weekly newsletter for Digi Scrap Station. It's fun and I have enjoyed doing one again. Here is our June 25 newsletter, called Keeping On Track. There are tips and articles in the newsletter, so don't miss out on them. You can subscribe to it in the left column. The past few weeks
I have been writing about sites that allow you to upload images, files and the such. Some past links are included in the left column of this weeks newsletter. There are also some freebies!!

Scrap Kit Challenge is ending another month with a cute kit called Beach Babies. The gals have done a great job on this kit. Go to our forum and take a peek and download away. You have to be a member to get the free kit, but membership is free. May's kit is also still up, but won't be for long, so hurry...

Here is my Beach Babies kit, available until July 31...

Coming soon...I will be offering a Quality Counts service to all designers who sell commercial use items (no kits). I am already doing this service for Elite Designer Resources and am going to branch out doing more of it for others. Here is my ad that will be displayed at EDR and DSS. If you are interested in my services, please email me. My multi-pack will include three of your items to check for $10.

Some of my background:
  • Graphic artist at a newspaper/printing company for 5 1/2 years.
  • Photoshop junkie for 10 years
  • Digi Scrapping since 2005
  • Was on the home team for 3Scrapateers for 2 years doing CT work, a newsletter for 18 months, started an Ezine and other odd jobs.
  • CT's for several designers
  • Have my own Yahoo Group called ScrapKitChallenge where the group creates a new scrap kit every month, for free. I used to go through all those files at one time, but don't any longer.
  • Am currently with Digi Scrap Station helping with admin, am the CT coordinator, am doing a weekly newsletter, design (but not much)
  • Elite Designer Resources - Quality control team leader and doing QC checks.

New in my store...note only ONE of this web set will be sold. This kit is for creating a web site and is 72 dpi (screen resolution). Two items are for print, the business card and the product tag and are at 300 dpi. The purchaser would add their site name to the headers and there is one category and one menu button that is blank.

Don't use these products....

If you are a digi scrapper and want good quality products then I advise you to NOT use anything from RESALE CLIPART!

I have purchased EIGHT kits from them with the intent to resell them (because they do allow that) but the quality of the images is NOT good. Most of them are only at 72 dpi (some are 200, but very scattered through out the kits I purchased).

You do need to watch because these items can be resold in other stores but they MUST say they are from Resale Clipart in the previews, according to their terms.

Yes, I have contacted them two or three times within the past two weeks and given them a file by file report of what I have found and no one has returned my emails. So, I feel I have no choice than to write and post this on my blog. I am considering posting this in the Yahoo Groups too...but have not done so yet. LOL

Update: 6/6, well I did post this in a few Yahoo Groups and the owner of ResaleClipart did see it and has banned me from her store and threatened me.

Why can't people just be honest and do what is right? I did not want to do this but on the other hand don't want others to purchase inferior products and not be able to use them. And the thing is MANY digi stores are selling these items under different designers names. So watch previews of these products in other stores.

So here is the breakdown of the eight kits. There are a total of 72 graphics in these eight kits. 56 of them are at 72 dpi, 15 of them are at 200 dpi, and 3 of them are at 300 dpi (300 is industry standard).

BTW: Her comment to me in her last email and I quote:
"
DO NOT CONTACT ME I am selling my clipart AS IS you purchased older sets my current stuff is 300 DPI and we DO NOT advertise our stuff as PERFECT For srapbookers you are absolutely getting on my nerves"

So, in her own words her stuff is not perfect for scrapbookers. Okay, now we know! Thank you!

NSD...

I was busy yesterday at DigiScrapStation's crop! Nancy had some great challenges and I completed six layouts, all in one day!

The first one (which was the last one I did last night) is of my oldest son and his girlfriend at her prom. Aren't they cute! This was for a challenge to use a photo mask, which I had never done before, and it was soooo easy!

The next two are of our kitchen that my DH has been remodeling since June of last year. Here is the kitchen the way it looked in June...the kit I used was my Home Improvement kit that you can find for free below (for the month of May).

Here is the kitchen today. We have one more thing to get and that is the refrigerator, LOL, we know what type we want, but have to find the right one...and boy are they expensive! And too many choices!! But we have found that with everything in this project.

Happy Easter weekend

Happy Easter weekend...I have had a busy two weeks! I joined an admin team with another store, which will remain nameless, and was trying to settle in with them. At the same time our person who does the newsletters at DSS left. I was offered the position of doing the DigiScrapStation newsletter and took it! I did the NL at 3S for 18 months and enjoyed it. So, I figured I resigned from the other position because there is only so much time in a day! So...watch for a new NL at DigiScrapStation next week!

Here are two FREE quick pages for you to enjoy, created with my Easter Blessings kit at DigiScrapStation. The kit is normally $6.50 but is 25% off ($4.88) now through April 30 (extended)!

Click on the image to download the QPs from MediFire. Please leave a comment in the C-box on the left side of your screen.

Here is a preview of the whole kit which has 100 pieces in it...18 papers and the rest elements, including...

New kit: Easter Blessings

I just finished and posted my new kit "Easter Blessings" at DigiScrapStation. It features some Christian elements, some spring elements, and some Easter elements. Items in this kit are not all repeats of each other, many have different styles to them. For example, each of the frames has a different type style on it to make it unique. All items are 300 dpi. S4H use allowed with this kit. There are 18 papers to choose from! This kit has a total of 101 pieces!! I got a little carried away! LOLIt is only $6.50 for everything!

Many of the styles I used in the above kit come from Bannerwoman...I test for her and Mega-Doodle Inspired. Here are some products I have recently tested which are up in her stores...oh she recently started selling at Mega-Doodle's store too!

Some of these items were used in my new Easter kit shown above.

Check out the freebie on Banner's blog...go there now to download!

Look Alikes

I found this photo of my grandmother from 1968-69. I could not believe how much my sister looks like her. And all these years we thought she took after my dads side of the family!

El Salvador

My youngest son, Keith, is going on a mission trip with his aunt and uncle this summer. They are going to El Salvador to help build 75 homes with Thrivent Builds (Thrivent and Habitat for Humanity).

The cost of the trip for just Keith is about $1,400 (trip plus air fare). We have set up a web site with Thrivent to accept donations towards his trip. You can reach it via his blog Keith's Mission Trip. Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
