I have, for years, been typing up my recipe cards as 4" tall by 6" wide on my computer, with a pretty background. I love doing them this way because they are typed, colorful, and you can print them off over and over again...to give away. I even use my 5" Xyron 510 machine to laminate the front sides of the recipes (put two different recipes back to back, put through double sided laminator, trim edges close, pull apart, front sides are laminated) for myself.
Well, I found this Recipe Card Challenge a few months ago and it's wonderful! Our hostess is Maurine, at Digital Scrapbooking Studio, in their Challenges Forum (look for July's challenges, then the recipe card challenge). Maurine gives us a kit every month, sized for our recipe cards, to use with a theme. This month is Bread, Honey and Peanut Butter. The recipes we make should have one of those items/themes in it. We post our recipes in the Recipe Challenge Gallery and send Maurine our completed recipe cards. Check out that gallery for some awesome cards over the years! Yes, years!
At the end of the month Maurine zips up all the recipes and give them out to everyone who contributed that month. We also get another file of blank cards and divider cards that lots of us give her. Check out what I just posted and contributed...
We cannot give away these cards on our blogs but you can join in the fun by following one of the links above and get them for yourself.
