Two more papers / Buckeye Boys State

Here are LINKS EXPIRED. They look very similar to the first two, which have a dirty grunge on them. Three and four have a white grunge on them for a lighter look. I did post a preview of all the papers on the last post, so check there for that.

My middle son is at Boy's State (only 20 minutes from home) this whole week! He and several friends decided they wanted to do this. Our local Legion, Post 183, sent three boys. Thank you to all the legion posts who send boys to this awesome event. There are more than 1,150 boys who are participating from all over Ohio.

Woo Hoo!! I knew my son had been interviewed via the local newspaper on the phone (at home) and we were told his interview would be in the paper on Monday. I just found it online HERE!

The title reads:
"Big dreams for Boys State - Local delegates plan for education of a lifetime in one week"

Just in case this link does not stay up very long, here is the part about Steven:

Steve Brandt, 17, of Pemberville, is one of seven Eastwood High School delegates to BBS, and he is sponsored by Freedom Post 183. His goal is to be selected as a juryman.

“I’ve always been interested in listening to people and the cases they’re involved in,” Brandt said. In reading his BBS information, Brandt found out delegates’ names can be put into a jury wheel to be selected for duty in either the grand jury or petty jury at the program.

A member of Boy Scout Troop 344, he has completed his Eagle Scout project which was to reconstruct a storage room at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Pemberville into its new food pantry. Community Food Pantry was formerly set up in a corner of a basement and, according to Brandt, was one-third the size it is now.

The teen expects the skills he learned working on his Eagle Scout project to aid him this week. “With Eagle Scout, it kind of gives me a little more confidence. I’m ready for about any situation.” <

Update @ 10 p.m.: I just found this page from the same newspapers web site from an article that was also in our schools newspaper. It features a photo of all the boys and girls who went to Boys and Girls State. Steven is the very last photo and his part of the article is towards the end. LINK
